About me
We can sometimes find ourselves feeling anxious, uncertain, stuck or powerless. We cannot see a way to change our immediate circumstances, to gain greater freedom or to understand how and why we feel this way. Our feelings of anxiety, depression and panic are often a sign that we are living in a way which is out of step with our own personal values. I will work with you to discover why your day to day life is a struggle and to gain a greater understanding of perceived barriers to change. Allowing ourselves to examine past and current situations and our responses to these, difficult as this may be, can allow us to begin the process of taking back control of our lives. The therapeutic journey allows self-exploration, identifying self-defeating behaviours and through this learning to be more authentic. Having a clearer idea of who we are and what is important to us as individuals can help us to develop boundaries and to build our self-esteem.
I provide a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental space where at your own pace we consider your past experiences and the reasons you have chosen to come to therapy. Together we will examine your feelings and your values to gain a clearer sense of who you are and what you want to be. We will build on your own resources to increase your self-confidence to live your life with a renewed sense of empowerment. I specialise in working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-confidence, eating disorders, panic attacks, relationship and family issues, anger issues, addiction, health anxiety and ADHD, ASD and OCD.
I am also an experienced couples therapist. I create a safe space for couples to discuss their relationship issues and I give both individuals the opportunity to share their own unique observations and frustrations. Together we work through the differences and identify the destructive patterns of behaviour and unhelpful responses which are leading to repeated distress and leaving one or both individuals feeling unheard, misunderstood and ultimately unloved.
I have been practising as a psychotherapist since 2008. I am UKCP-accredited, with an M.A in Psychotherapy and Counselling. I trained in the Existential approach to Psychotherapy, which concentrates on our ability to create meaningful lives in this present moment. However, I work from an integrative framework which allows to utilise other therapeutic perspectives, such as CBT, the Person-Centred Approach and Mindfulness. I am a member of BACP and I adhere to the UKCP code of ethics. I also undertake a minimum of 50 hours Continuing Professional Development per year and have regular supervision.
In addition to my private practice, I work as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor for the University of the Arts London offering mental health support for university students with complex needs. I have run a series of training sessions for UAL staff in mental health mentoring. I have also facilitated a community support group for parents and carers of young people experiencing complex mental health problems.
I see clients for in-person psychotherapy sessions from my home in Stoke Newington. Alternatively I offer online sessions via Zoom. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy.
I also offer walking therapy where sessions are held in local green spaces in north London. This is generally a client-led session where the therapy takes place outdoors, walking or sitting for periods as preferred. The experience of being outside in harmony with nature, combined with physical movement, can be particularly beneficial for clients struggling with anxiety, bereavement, anger issues or distress.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or to book an initial session.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
