Counselling is about you: your concerns, and your wellbeing. We can talk about me, and what clients say about me later. But for now, let's establish how you can benefit from professional support......
Does any of this sound like you?
"I want to reduce stress"
"I feel anxious all the time"
"I wish my life wasn't ruled by panic attacks"
"I want to feel optimistic instead of negative all the time"
...Or perhaps you want some direction in life, become more productive or improve your relationships.
Whether it’s anger, bereavement, bullying, life having no purpose, low-self esteem, the menopause, personal development, redundancy or retirement. Counselling can help.
So why not have a browse through my profile to see if I can help?
I bring energy and enthusiasm to my work with clients helping, people like you, to become more productive at work and in your relationships. Like you, each person is unique, recognising this, my cutting-edge, results orientated, evidence-based approaches are tailored to your individual needs. Above all, I have a good track record of positive change, affirmed by my clients.
I was unable to find a way out of my career situation. My working life had ground to a halt, and I was flooded with fears from the past. My weekly therapy with Karen, has enabled me to be more confident in the job market, go after and focus on the work that I really want, and gain a greater awareness of my patterns in working relationships. I have also been able to look at my behaviour in intimate relationships, and the patterns I fall in to, learning now to say no, when I have to. I feel that I am worth more these days.
(Playwright & Teacher)
In addition to my work as a Psychotherapist, I am Founder of the Regency Practice in the Harley Street District of London, a Lecturer at Wiltshire College and also work as a Consultant advising film Directors, such as Mike Leigh, on the authenticity of film narratives involving psychotherapy.
I am equally concerned about personal growth and development and encouraging people to discover their potential for living as I am about those of you who have identified that you have particular problems you wish to talk about.
My sessions involve you and I meeting, talking and listening together with the mutual purpose of paying careful attention to your life and how you experience it.
Therapy is a shared process so I think it is important for me to honour your privacy and personal independence and for me to create a non-judgmental nurturing environment so that you feel comfortable enough to talk about issues that are bothering you. My role is to facilitate your work in ways that respect your values, personal resources and capacity for choice within your cultural/spiritual context and recognise how they can sometimes be at odds with your actions or how you feel day to day.
I generally suggest meeting for a first consultation appointment with of course no need to proceed if you decide not to. We can use the time to clarify the particular concerns for which you seek Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will address any questions you may have. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I also offer bespoke care programmes to help patients adjust to living with illnesses such as HIV, IBS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, back pain and other multimusculoskeletal disorders.
£60.00 per session
My standard fee is £60 per 50 minute session. I also have a few daytime concessionary slots so please do ask.
Counselling can be difficult to fit in if you have a hectic lifestyle and expensive if you have alot of other financial outgoings so I also offer fortnightly appointments.
Your counselling sessions can also be funded by private health insurance. I work with a number of medical insurers including Aviva, PruHealth, Standard Life and WPA.
My corporate experience includes senior management and policy positions with an emphasis on diversity, coaching, mentoring, health work and well-being both domestically and internationally. This has helped me to understand how difficult it is to achieve a balance between home and family life and personal ambition.
