About me
As a counsellor I work with individuals and couples. I believe that every person is unique and has the potential to fully realise their inner qualities.
I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore the issues affecting you and to support you in discovering your inner resources and the best way forward for you. I can help you find your own answers to the issues you are experiencing, and together we can work towards accomplishing your goals, however simple or complex they might be. I really enjoy helping people realise their potential; please know that whatever it is that you are experiencing or have experienced that has prompted your search for a counsellor is a valid and important reason for that search. I work from a cosy cabin in my garden, I’m also happy to work online.
I have been qualified for over twenty years and work in a professional, friendly environment, offering both long and short term counselling. I have experience of working with people from all walks of life with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship/family issues, self harm, ADHD, low self esteem and stress.
I have a certificate in Person Centred Art Therapy which enables me to work with images created by the client. This can be a powerful and exciting way of working that you might like to try. Our sessions will always be led by you though and no pressure will be put on you to try anything that you aren’t comfortable with.
Research shows that it is the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor that effects the most client change. I am therefore happy to have a chat on the phone before you decide if you would like to start counselling with me.
I am based in Herne Bay, near local bus routes. Parking is available locally.
The nature of my work means that I am often unable to answer my phone so please leave me a brief message with a number I can reach you on and I will return your call as soon as I can. Alternatively you can email me and I will endeavour to contact you within 24 hours.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
