About me

As a counsellor I work with adults, young people and couples. I believe that every person is a unique individual, and has the potential to fully realise their inner qualities.

I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore the issues affecting you and to support you in discovering your inner resources and the best way forward for you. I can help you  find your own answers to the issues you are experiencing, and together we can work towards accomplishing your goals, however simple or complex they might be. I really enjoy helping people realise their potential; please know that whatever it is that you are experiencing or have experienced that has prompted your search for a counsellor is a valid and important reason for that search.

I have been a Counsellor for fifteen years and work in a professional, friendly environment, offering both long and short term counselling. I have experience of working with people from all walks of life with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship/family issues, self harm, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and stress. I am happy to offer counselling services to LGBTQ clients.

Research shows that it is the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor that effects the most client change. I am therefore happy to meet with you free of charge for a chat before you decide if you would like to start counselling.  Please feel free to ring for a no obligation initial chat or to arrange a meeting.

I am based in the town centre, a short walk from Herne Bay station and local bus routes. Parking is available locally. Please note that my office is on the first floor so unfortunately it may not be easily accessible if you find stairs difficult.

The nature of my work means that I am often unable to answer my phone; please leave me a brief message with a number I can reach you on and I will return your call as soon as I can. Alternatively you can email me and I will contact you as soon as I can, usually within 24 hours.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
