When we are faced with life's difficulties, it's useful to have someone to talk to. The idea of coming to counselling can be a bit daunting but time spent with someone who understands and has experience of the emotional distress you're going through can be the start of the change you want .
Counselling can be helpful, when we are faced with the complexities of life. Often, we turn to friends and relatives who are keen to offer us advice and guide us, but their advice may not be right for us, or the problems we have may be too personal or awkward to share with those close to us. Depression for example, or anxiety can benefit from specialist help. Relationship issues too, can be helped by talking things through with someone who has experience of working in this area.
I trained as a person centred counsellor. You can read more about person centred counselling here (http://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/person-centred-therapy.html) if you’d like to, but the short version is that I won’t tell you what to do, and I won’t judge you. I will give you a place to say what you want to say, and help you think about what you want to change and how you might make that change.
Our sessions are an hour long, and take place in a calm, peaceful room near Preston Park. In this safe, confidential, non judgemental and supportive space, we can work together, to explore the things that are troubling you.
