About me
Hi. Thank you for reading my profile. I am a BACP accredited and registered counsellor and a qualified supervisor. I have 17 years experience counselling in various settings such as schools, universities, employee assistance programmes and in private practice too. I have an up to date enhanced DBS check.
I work with young people and adults with a wide range of issues including generalised anxiety, stress, depression, feeling sad, social anxiety, relationship problems, bereavement, low self esteem etc. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can explore personal or difficult issues that you may be struggling with.
With the impact of Coronavirus over the last 18 months, I am aware that a lot of people are really struggling with generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, and increasingly the effects of Long Covid too. I have adapted my practice over this time as I want counselling to be accessible to all who may need it. I am qualified to offer online and phone counselling and hope that if meeting in person feels too difficult , that you may feel able to access counselling online or on the phone with me. Offering online counselling also means that you do not need to be in my locality to access counselling with me. I am also seeing clients face to face too. I have a risk assessment in place and Covid guidelines that I follow, to ensure that anyone who wants to meet with me face to face is doing so in the safest way.
I can work with you on a short-term solution focused basis, as well as an open-ended longer term basis to enable us to explore personal challenges at a deeper level. I work in an Integrative way which means I use theories and concepts from different therapeutic models - recognising that you are an individual who needs a way of working with, that is individual to you and the issues you are presenting with.
I understand it's not easy taking the first step in asking for support. I hope to make it as smooth and easy as possible for you. Please get in touch if you want to find out more about how I work, and whether that works for you. Thanks, Becky

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
