Supervision details
If you are looking for a supervisor to support you with your caseload, navigating counselling placements and training or to help you to grow your practice, then we may be a good fit. I warmly welcome supervisees who are in training, newly qualified or are more experienced colleagues.
Finding a supervisor who is adequately qualified and experienced in your way of working is important in ensuring your professional development. Clinical supervision is an integral part of counselling and psychotherapeutic work, but finding the right supervisor who you feel comfortable with is even more important. A good supervisor will help you to grow professionally and develop your practice, in service of your clients.
With an advanced certificate in Clinical Supervision, I am fully qualified to work with and supervise practitioners who work in person, online and via telephone. There are often nuanced differences that present through online and telephone work, so having a supervisor who can support with these areas is vital if you work in this way with clients. I hold a Masters Degree in counselling and psychotherapy which informs my integrative way of working whilst holding true to person centred foundations of practice.
In addition to my well established private practice in which I support both adults and young people with a wide range of concerns, I am proud to have over 6 years of experience working in schools and as a School Counsellor. Working creatively to support clients to explore their areas of concern in greater depth and care is central to my ethos in practice.
The Seven Eyed Model of Supervision by Hawkins and Shohet underpins the way in which I supervise. This model allows for a dynamic exploration of your client work, your practice and your personal needs to ensure that you are thriving in your counselling work. My work is rooted in ethical practice and how this framework allows us to make sound ethical decisions with our counselling practices. In addition, supervision with me is tailored to your individual supervisory needs, whether that be finding your feet in private practice or working towards greater depth in a specialist area in your practice. Supervision sessions are taken at your pace and are often a dynamic mixture of client work, developing competencies and your personal wellbeing.
To find out more about how I supervise and whether we may be a good fit to work together, please reach out and we can arrange an introductory call to discuss your supervision needs.
Supervision sessions are charged at £60 an hour, with a 1.5 hour session being £80. Concessions offered for student counsellors.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
