Supervision details

Having a supervisor who understands you, how you work and what you want to achieve in your career as a counsellor is vital.

It can be the difference between that feeling of walking a lonely road, with the trepidation and anxiety that brings and feeling like you have a guardian angel on call to help with the ongoing issues that a complicated profession like counselling throws up.

I am a person-centred trained counsellor who blends Transactional Analysis and Creative Counselling into my sessions.

Within our sessions, we will work using the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision. This is a model which looks at seven specific aspects of the triad relationship of Supervision: The Client - The Therapist - The Supervisor.

We will explore:

Who the client is.

Your interventions.

Your relationship with the client.

What's going on for you as you work with this client,

Our professional relationship.

What's going on for me as we work together.

Wider issues.

Regardless of where you are in your counselling career, having a supportive, knowledgeable and non-judgemental supervisor can enhance your skills, ease your worries and share the weight of helping your clients.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I had a career of over twenty years working in primary and secondary schools supporting the mental health of both students and staff.

Within my own private practice, The Trusted Therapist, I specialise in working with teens and young children as well as men’s mental health.  I also am a partner in Bingley Counselling Centre and own ACE Training; a successful training business for people who support children who have experienced abuse and trauma. I am happy to use my experience to help you to help you grow your practice from trainee to qualified therapist to private practice.

Have you considered what you want from a supervisor? Is it just to follow the recommended hours, or are you wanting to expand your skill set and be the best counsellor you can be?

Are you new into this wonderful, but daunting profession and need guidance and support whilst you turn theory into practise?

Are you ambitious and have dreams of making this your full-time business, or even to expand beyond that?

Or are you an experienced counsellor wanting to use supervision to work in a more collaborative style to develop a working relationship with someone who can gently challenge you to improve further?

Irrespective of your experience, ambition or reason for reading my profile, if you'd like to connect to see if we would be able to develop an excellent working alliance, please feel free to contact me to arrange a meet up face to face in Bingley West Yorkshire or online.

I hope to speak to you soon.

Brian

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
