Supervision details

I am trained in Generic Supervision Competences for Psychological Therapies and Interventions through NHS Education for Scotland. I have other supervision training for staff and volunteers through my previous work career.

My aim is to promote your development, reflect on your experience, and to help you notice the impact of the work you do.

My practice is particularly informed by Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle and Hawkins and Shohet's Seven Eyed Model.

My main therapeutic orientations are :

Person Centred Therapy.

I have undertaken COSCA validated Counselling Skills Training. I spent two years training and primarily using this approach during my Counselling Psychology doctorate. This is my underlying theoretical orientation.

Compassion Focussed Therapy

I have undertaken university modules as part of my Doctorate,  and further training in CFT via the Compassionate Mind Foundation (Introduction to Theory and Practice of CFT, CFT and the Therapeutic Relationship). I have worked using elements of this approach for five years, and been supervised for this.

Supervision sessions for trainees are charged at the rate of £60 per session. If you are working and require supervision this would be charged at the rate of £85 per session.

If you are interested please get in touch to discuss your requirements for supervision.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
