Pluralistic Clinical Supervision with Susanne

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to visit my supervision profile.

I believe supervision is about far more than discussing client work. At its best, supervision is a place for reflection, growth, curiosity, challenge, learning, and professional nourishment. It is a space where we can think deeply about our clients, our practice, our development, and ourselves as practitioners.

My name is Susanne, and I am an accredited Pluralistic Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, and SIPP (Suicide Intervention and Prevention Planning) Trainer. I have over 20 years' experience supporting people through trauma, adversity, loss, and significant life challenges across the third sector, education, online counselling services, and private practice.

At the heart of my supervision practice is a belief that there is no single right way to be a therapist. As a pluralistic practitioner, I value collaboration, diversity, creativity, and the understanding that different clients, therapists, and situations require different approaches. My role is not to tell you how to work, but to support you in developing confidence in your own thinking, deepening your clinical understanding, and finding a way of practising that feels both ethical and authentic to you.

My approach to supervision is trauma-informed, holistic, relational, and grounded in the belief that who we are matters. Alongside psychotherapy, I have a particular interest in behavioural science, neuroscience, neurodiversity, somatic approaches, breathwork, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and the mind-body connection. These perspectives can offer valuable ways of understanding both our clients and ourselves as practitioners.

As a neurodivergent practitioner myself, I recognise that there is no single way to think, learn, communicate, process information, or experience the world. I am passionate about creating a supervision space where difference is respected, diversity is celebrated, and people feel able to bring their full selves into the conversation.

My professional background includes extensive experience working with trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, dissociation, abuse, grief, neurodivergence, and mental health difficulties. I have worked with adults, young people, and students in both short-term and longer-term therapeutic settings and understand the rewards, responsibilities, and challenges that therapeutic work can bring.

Whether you are a trainee counsellor, newly qualified practitioner, experienced therapist, or exploring a new area of practice, supervision can offer a place to pause and think. You do not need to have all the answers to be a good therapist. In many ways, good supervision is about developing the confidence to stay curious when answers are not immediately available.

In supervision I aim to provide a balance of support, accountability, reflection, and gentle challenge. Together we can:

• Explore client work with openness, honesty, and curiosity

• Deepen clinical understanding and case formulation

• Strengthen ethical decision-making and professional judgement

• Build confidence in your therapeutic voice and approach

• Explore areas of specialism and professional development

• Consider CPD opportunities and future career pathways

• Support resilience, wellbeing, and sustainable practice

Diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging are central to my work. I welcome supervisees from all backgrounds, cultures, identities, faiths, relationship styles, and therapeutic orientations. I believe effective supervision recognises not only what happens in the therapy room but also the wider social, cultural, political, and systemic influences that shape both our clients and ourselves.

I am an Accredited Member of the BACP and an Accredited Registrant of the NCPS. My practice is fully insured, and I work within the ethical frameworks of my professional bodies.

Supervision is offered online via Zoom, providing flexibility and accessibility wherever you are based.

Fees:

• £60 per hour

• £90 per 90-minute session

• 10% discount available for placement students and trainee counsellors

If you would like to explore whether supervision with me feels like the right fit, I would be happy to arrange an initial conversation.

I look forward to connecting with you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
