In 2010 I took on a counselling project and found myself supervising volunteer counsellors.  Some experienced, some novices and all from very different therapeutic approaches, psychodynamic, integrative, play therapy, art therapy and more.  I loved the work but was keen to support my new role with training.  In 2012 I qualified with a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision, from Cascade.

I have loved the work I have carried out in both 1-1 and group supervision, the process of reflection and understanding is wonderful to experience collaboratively and when possible I enjoy working creatively.  Toys, stones and pencils really do help get to the heart of our responses and processes so much quicker.

Often supervisor has the connotation of being superior, better or all knowing.  It was wonderful to break this myth down in my training and learn the power of working together and of course another pair of eyes and ears on the content we are trying to process.  I believe supervision should be enjoyable and exciting most of the time, allowing for the difficult challenges when necessary as that's where we develop and grow the most.

At the moment I offer online, telephone and walk and talk supervision.  If you have any questions or would like an informal introductory chat, please get in touch.  I am looking forward to hearing from you.
