Supervision details
It is important that you find a supervisor that is a good fit for you, who both supports but also helps you to develop your counselling journey. For this reason my initial session is free to allow you to decide if you feel we could work well together. I am in training with Counselling tutor for the clinical supervision qualification and have also previously supervised both students doing their counselling placements and staff counselling within a charity organisation.
My main aim would be to provide a psychologically safe environment where you feel supported and secure while I remain non-judgemental, allowing you to bring anything to session around your client work to allow growth and development in your practice. My background is working as a Pluralistic counsellor in both the charity sector and in private practice working both online and in-person. I would be able to support those working in different modalities, however I would let you know about my limitations in the modalities that I don't work in. I also work with young people in my practice from 12yrs and up and am based in a school, counselling for a children's charity. I also worked as a support worker in a charity supporting survivors of abuse and sexual assault and have volunteered as a Samaritan for 10 years supporting those with suicidal ideation and low mood. Through my work experience I have learned a lot about working with trauma and those struggling with their mental health, which can in turn help me to support you in your practice with clients who may also be struggling in these areas.
With a collaborative approach we can work together and help to enhance your professional practice.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
