Supervision details

I offer clinical supervision in a collaborative, respectful and non-hierarchical way, where your experience as a practitioner is valued and explored rather than judged. I see supervision as a shared space for thinking, feeling and reflecting together, where both support and challenge can emerge safely.

My approach is rooted in Gestalt therapy and informed by an integrative perspective. I am particularly interested in the relational field between therapist and client, and how your own embodied experience, emotional responses and patterns of contact can become meaningful clinical information. I will often invite attention not only to what you think about your work, but also to what you notice in your body, your feelings, and your immediate responses.

I work with qualified counsellors as well as trainees, and I am experienced in supporting therapists at different stages of their development. With trainees, I offer a steady, containing space that supports learning, confidence and professional identity. With more experienced practitioners, supervision can become a place for deeper exploration, creativity and ongoing growth.

Alongside case discussion, I welcome reflection on ethical dilemmas, professional boundaries, and the impact of the work on you as a person. I aim to create a space where vulnerability, uncertainty and not knowing can be held with care, while also supporting you to remain grounded, responsible and thoughtful in your practice.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
