Supervision details

I offer warm, collaborative and trauma-informed clinical supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors. My aim is to provide a supportive, reflective space where you feel able to bring both your client work and your experience of being a counsellor, without fear of judgement or criticism.

I believe supervision is an essential part of ethical and effective practice. It provides an opportunity to reflect on client work, explore challenges, celebrate successes, maintain professional standards and support your own wellbeing. Supervision should be a space where you feel supported, encouraged and appropriately challenged as you continue to develop your confidence, skills and professional identity.

My approach is grounded in relationship and collaboration. Just as every client is unique, every supervisee is unique, and I aim to tailor supervision to your individual needs, experience and way of working. Whether you are in training, newly qualified or an experienced counsellor, I strive to create a safe environment where you can openly explore your work and personal development.

As a trauma-informed counsellor with extensive experience supporting survivors of trauma, abuse and adversity, I have a particular interest in helping counsellors work safely and confidently with complex presentations. My experience includes many years working with Women's Aid, alongside extensive work within mental health and wellbeing services.

My background in pluralistic counselling, breathwork, mindfulness and holistic approaches also informs my understanding of the relationship between mind, body and emotional wellbeing. Where relevant, I may draw on somatic approaches and reflective exploration to support your understanding of both client processes and your own responses within the therapeutic relationship.

Supervision may include:

  • Reflective practice and case discussion
  • Ethical decision-making and professional development
  • Trauma-informed practice
  • Working with complex presentations
  • Support with confidence building and professional identity
  • Self-care, resilience and burnout prevention
  • Personal development planning and goal setting
  • Support for trainees and newly qualified counsellors
  • CPD and ongoing professional development

I hold a qualification in Clinical Supervision (COSCA accredited) and am committed to providing a supportive and empowering supervisory relationship. My goal is to help supervisees feel confident, resourced and equipped to sustain a healthy, ethical and rewarding practice.

I offer supervision online and in person. My current rate is £60 per session.

If you would like to discuss supervision or explore whether we may be a good fit to work together, I would be happy to hear from you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
