Supervision details
I achieved a diploma level 6 in art psychotherapy clinical supervision with the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) in 2020. The qualification enabled me to use different supervisory modalities to meet the needs of professionals and trainees. Although the modality was extensively art therapy, it opened up the possibility of working with other disciplines creatively. The training was thorough and covered areas like organisational dynamics, evaluation of supervision, and GDPR. Before this, I supervised many different professions, from clinical psychologists, NHS ward managers, art therapists to counsellors. My main occupation is as a lead art therapist for an NHS Trust. Privately I run an art therapy studio and provide clinical supervision for a counselling charity where I supervise a mixed group of counsellors and trainees. I am part of the charity's clinical management team. Working online has become second nature to me during the pandemic, and I have attended many CPD events around this way of working.
For the last eight years, I have supervised trainees from the University of South Wales on placement within the NHS. I have broad experience working in the voluntary and statutory sectors in many different areas, from challenging behaviour and learning disability, ex-offenders, adult mental health, and abuse victims. I am happy for an informal telephone or Zoom chat. If I cannot help or are at capacity, I could signpost you to someone. I am registered with HCPC and BAAT and adhere to their codes of ethics.
Fees: £80.00 to £45.00 Sliding scale aimed at trainees and low wage.
Group supervision is available.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
