I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in a variety of roles in the NHS, schools, voluntary sector organisations and commissioned services. I am experienced in supervising trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and clinical psychologists. My approach to supervision is to ensure that clients receive high quality and safe therapy while ensuring that the supervisee feels supported in delivering therapy and is able to focus on their own personal and professional development.I am very open to a discussion about what form and frequency of supervision is most helpful. The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
