I have just started out as a Supervisor and although according to BACP guidelines, no formal qualification is required, they do suggest that when choosing a Supervisor, a Counsellor should at least seek out an experienced Counsellor, and ideally one with some training in Supervision, if not already holding a qualification at Certificate or Diploma level. I therefore, for my own professional development am studying for a Certificate in Supervision through Sue Pattison. I can offer Supervision at a reduced cost whilst training. Fees: £20 per hour (£35 for an hour and a half session).
My Counselling training was relational and integrative, and as a Supervisor I aim to provide a safe space to form a working alliance that feels compassionately challenging and supportive, helping to promote a Counsellor becoming ever more present to themselves and to their clients.
