Supervision details
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with over 20 years of clinical experience and a Diploma in Supervision. I’m trained in psychodynamic therapy, but with an integrative approach, providing high-quality supervision for trainee, newly qualified, and experienced practitioners.
Whether you are based locally in Leicestershire or seeking remote support, I offer sessions either in-person at my Anstey practice or via secure video consultation (Zoom).
My Approach
My supervision is grounded in a psychodynamic framework, offering a deep exploration of the therapeutic relationship, unconscious processes, and countertransference. However, due to my extensive experience working for EAP’s and other short-term contract agencies I maintain an integrative flexibility and often draw on other perspectives such as compassion focussed, CBT and solution focussed to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
I aim to create an open, relaxed and collaborative space designed to gently challenge and support your professional development. Whether you are navigating early career challenges as a trainee or newly qualified therapist, or a seasoned therapist seeking a fresh perspective, our sessions focus on developing your clinical confidence, ethical practice, and personal resilience.
Professional Experience
Private Practice: Established since 2006, working extensively with adults across the lifespan. I worked for 6 years as a Youth Counsellor but my work now focusses on adults (18+).
Agency Work: Extensive experience supporting short-term interventions for EAPs and various statutory agencies including Leicester Youth Offending Service, Leicestershire County Council, Open Door Youth Counselling Service, Cross Country Trains Ltd, Victim Support, Churches’ Ministerial Counselling Service and Gateway College.
Supervision Training: Holding a Diploma in Supervision, ensuring a structured, ethical, and reflective supervisory process aligned with the BACP Ethical Framework.
Specialisms/areas of interest: During my 20 years of practice I have worked with a variety of issues but I have developed a particular interest in the impact of life transitions and loss. I completed a Certificate in Eating Disorders in 2025 and have a special interest in working with Binge Eating Disorder presentations.
Why Work with Me?
As an experienced practitioner in both long-term depth work and short-term interventions for EAP’s/agencies, I bring two decades of real-world insights to the supervisory room. I have been in private practice for 20 years and witnessed many changes to the counselling profession.
Over the years I’ve weathered the impact of several world economic crises plus a pandemic, learning to adapt and seek out new opportunities as I go along. As a result I understand the unique pressures faced by both newly qualified and experienced therapists alike.
My goal is to help you find clarity in complexity, ensuring you feel supported in your work with clients while safeguarding your own wellbeing.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
