Janet O'Connell BSc Hons; MBACP (Accred) Counsellor/Psychotherapist & Supervisor

Burnham On Sea, Somerset, TA8
Registered / Accredited
Burnham On Sea, Somerset, TA8

I have been a qualified supervisor for 12 years and have supported many student and qualified counsellors both as private supervisees and also as counsellors within a counselling agency.

I have worked as a counselling tutor for several years and as an agency manager in a large 6th form college.I am very aware of the challenges student counsellors face and the importance of the supervision relationship.

I believe supervision should be supportive, stimulating and restorative, where you have a safe space to openly explore all elements of your client work and professional development and feel valued and held as well as challenged.

Costs for supervision - £40 per hour for student counsellors; £50 per hour for qualified counsellors.
I offer a 40 minute initial session for you to come and meet me before deciding if you would like to contract to see me for ongoing supervision. This initial session costs £20.

I am based in Burnham on Sea, close to Weston Super Mare and Bridgwater and with easy access from the M5.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
