Supervision details
Introduction
Hello, my name is Tina, and I am a UKRCP-registered and fully accredited BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Systemic Practitioner. I have over twenty years post-qualifying experience and have worked with individuals, couples, and groups in many different settings, including private practice, private psychiatric hospitals, charities, and the NHS. I also have ten years experience working as a clinical supervisor for a charity providing therapies to clients who have survived brain injury. I provide both one-to-one and group supervision to trainees and qualified counselling psychologists, psychotherapists, and art psychotherapists.
My Therapeutic Approach
I am an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist. In my therapeutic work, I draw from theories including: Psychodynamic, Systemic, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
In my work as a supervisor, I work collaboratively to share ideas and provide a supportive and containing space to think together about your work and consider ways forward. The work might include a focus on formulation, context, power dynamics, exploring stuckness in the work, transference and countertransference experiences, boundaries, ethical working, safeguarding and practitioner self-care.
I use the Seven Eyed Model (Hawkins and Shohet) as a framework in my supervision work. This model focuses on the following elements:
- Focus on the client and what and how they present
- Exploration of the strategies and models used by the supervisee
- Exploration of the relationship between the client and the supervisee
- Focus on the supervisee
- Focus on the supervisory relationship
- The supervisor focusing on their own process
- Focus on the wider contexts in which the work happens
- I have a special interest in brain injury and therapist burnout.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
