About me
Reasons for starting therapy can vary widely, it could be that you are experiencing overwhelming or difficult feelings and emotions. Maybe you have a desire to understand yourself on a deeper level or would like to explore themes that are important to you. I offer an open and exploratory way of working which allows us to look at whatever comes to the surface in that moment.
I am an HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist with over 25 years experience of working in the NHS in varying roles. For the last 4 years I have been working as an Art Therapist in Adult Palliative Care Services. I offer online art psychotherapy sessions for adults, I am friendly, empathetic and non-judgemental and aim to provide a nurturing therapeutic space where we can explore what is troubling you.
Using art making as part of your therapeutic journey may be of interest to you, or perhaps you would prefer to talk, both options are available and our work together will be individual to you. As an Art Psychotherapist, I work psychodynamically and from a person-centred approach which means I work individually with each client, respecting you for the unique person you are.
Some of the concerns I regularly work with are:
- Emotional suffering, that may be from anxiety, panic, depression, work stress, chronic or life threatening illness or from a bereavement. Emotional suffering may also be from experiencing trauma in our early lives.
- Living through challenging circumstances. This may be following a health diagnosis, a difficult family or social dynamic or struggling with the current global climate and political crises.
I work both in the long term and the short term and will work with you to decide on your own individual requirements. I offer an initial free 30 minute consultation where we can discuss what you are looking for and how I can help you.
Please use email as first point of contact.
**For art therapy online you will be required to gather some simple art materials, some ideas will be discussed in our initial consultation.**

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
