About me

Hello, I’m Trisha. I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Bristol. I work with adults in person, online, and outdoors through walk-and-talk therapy.

As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches so that our work together is shaped around you, your needs, your pace, and what feels most supportive. I work in a relational and compassionate way to create a safe, steady space where you can explore what’s been feeling difficult or overwhelming.

People often come to me experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, burnout, or feeling stuck in patterns such as overthinking, people-pleasing, or masking. I also work with family issues, trauma, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), including intrusive thoughts and rumination.

I am neurodivergent myself, and I work in a neuro-affirming way with adults who are neurodivergent, including ADHD and Autism. This means therapy is adapted to you. With sensitivity to difference, identity, sensory needs, and the impact of long-term masking or burnout.

I believe it’s important to feel connected, both to yourself and to others, to feel valued and understood. Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” what’s wrong, but about gently making sense of what’s been too much, too hidden, or too painful to carry alone. Alowwing you to reconnect with your needs, boundaries, and what matters to you.

My approach is collaborative and flexible, drawing on relational and existential therapy, I and practical CBT tools when helpful.

In our work together, I will:

  • Listen with empathy to understand your experience of the world
  • Offer a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship where you can explore what’s troubling you
  • Work creatively and flexibly, adapting therapy to suit you as an individual
Be genuine, compassionate, and open in our work together

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to see if we feel like a good fit. Sessions are available in Bristol and online, with a small number of concession slots.

Please note: sometimes my replies to enquiries can land in junk or spam as my email address isn’t recognised. If you’ve reached out and haven’t heard back, please check those folders. Thank you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a PGDip in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP). My core training is relational and integrative, drawing on existential and person-centred approaches with CBT-informed tools. I’ve since deepened my practice with IFS-informed work and nature-based / walk-and-talk approaches.

My clinical placement was with Mind Bristol (Meeting Minds), supporting adults with anxiety, low mood, trauma, identity questions and relationship difficulties. I also volunteered with MindLine (confidential mental-health helpline) and with Bristol Inclusive Climbing, experiences that strengthened my neuro-affirming, inclusive way of working within diversity.

Before retraining I worked in optometry; recovering from burnout shaped my commitment to steady, embodied, relational therapy. I engage in regular clinical supervision and ongoing CPD.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Spending time outdoors has always been a grounding force in my life, and this connection with nature often inspires how I work. I believe the natural world holds metaphorical and embodied wisdom, and this informs how I structure walk-and-talk sessions or use nature-based prompts when it feels right for the client.

Creativity is another steady thread for me, not in any polished or performative way, but as a form of expression and self-soothing. I often find that moments of creative freedom, stillness, or play can open up new insights in the therapeutic process. If it feels helpful, we might draw on these approaches together, gently, and always at your pace.

Above all, I see therapy as a co-created space, one that invites curiosity, safety, and a deeper connection to your own inner knowing.
