About me
I am a qualified humanistic counsellor offering a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is troubling you at your own pace.
Life can present us with many challenges, whether that is anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, stress, low self-esteem, or simply a feeling that things are not quite as they should be. Reaching out for support can feel daunting, but you do not have to face these difficulties alone.
My approach is rooted in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth and change when they are given the right environment to be heard, understood, and accepted. I aim to build a genuine therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and respect, where you can speak openly without fear of judgement.
I recognise that each person’s experiences are unique, and I tailor my approach to your individual needs. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, helping you develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in moving forward.
Whether you are seeking support through a specific issue or looking for a space to better understand yourself, I welcome you to get in touch for an initial conversation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a First Class Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Counselling: Humanistic Principles and Practices and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My training and experience have enabled me to work with individuals facing a wide range of challenges. Through various counselling placements, I have supported clients experiencing issues including sexual abuse, addiction, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and other personal and emotional concerns.
Alongside my formal qualifications, I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly undertake further training and learning opportunities to deepen my therapeutic knowledge and enhance the support I offer to clients. I believe that continual learning and self-reflection are essential parts of being an effective counsellor.
I currently work in private practice, providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. My aim is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence as they work towards positive change.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
