Tania Brocklehurst MBACP Counsellor & Supervisor (senior accredited)
Welcome to my counselling directory profile. I am a BACP senior accredited integrative counsellor, supervisor, and counselling services manager for a local healthcare establishment alongside my private practise.
I have a strong person centred base and this provides a foundation to work with you using a combination of therapeutic approaches best suited to your requirements and the issues that you would like to work through. I can work confidently and in an empathic, gentle yet focused manner in both long and short term frameworks.
Having qualified as an Integrative Clinical Supervisor in 2013, I am actively experienced in supporting both trainee and experienced counsellors and therapists case loads through individual and group supervision. If you are a counsellor or therapist looking for supervision or counselling please feel welcome to contact me.
I have worked in mental health and care services for 20 years and am experienced in working with adolescents, young people, adults and the elderly for a wide range and depth of issues, in particular anxiety and depression, panic attacks, exam and work related stress, relationship or employment issues, general mental health difficulties, transition and loss, and am passionate about working with people through life stages to find a sense of self and meaning.
I understand that finding the right person and deciding to meet a new counsellor to begin a piece of self development work is an investment on many levels. If it helps, I am happy to arrange to talk on the telephone or through email before meeting to answer any questions you might have. We can then arrange for an initial assessment session.
I work within the BACP and BABCP ethical frameworks and hire a comfortable room in Bovingdon from a colleague, with good parking facilities.
I have a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and can work with a pure or integrated CBT approach for a variety of conditions including anxiety, fear, panic disorder and depression.
I have trained in working with individuals with mindfulness, and am experienced in holding group mindfulness sessions having completed Teacher Training 1 with Bangor university in 2016. I am happy to integrate techniques into our sessions if this would be useful. I can also offer the 8 week MBSR or MBCT in groups or with individuals following assessment.
I co- managed a childrens services through a transition period for 18 months, gaining experience working with families facing serious illness. Prior to this I have experience working with children in care, adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues in residential homes, and those experiencing drug and alcohol addiction.
