It can be very difficult to reach out for help, at the best of times. I'm glad you've taken the first steps, which is always the hardest. Society and those around us can often have a perception about how we should be, or act and this often causes conflict within us. My hope is to help you overcome this.
My core training is in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy. I will facilitate your journey whilst also trusting in you to reach your own decisions, this can be challenging, however it will always be done in a safe and non judgmental way. I have also trained in Low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) . This has provided me with the extra set of knowledge to give you evidence based interventions, if requested.
What is Counselling and Psychotherapy
Whether it's current situations that you have going on, or past experiences, counselling provides you a safe place to reflect and process life events. As your therapist, I facilitate this process, developing a relationship with you that promotes personal growth and a deeper understanding of who you are. Psychotherapy is often seen as very similar to Counselling, the main difference is that Psychotherapy facilitates a deeper understanding and exploration of your experiences and how they have impacted you.
What is Low intensity CBT
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through low intensity CBT therapy and treatment, I am able to provide you with evidence based interventions that are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Before you embark on therapy, I offer an initial session to help you decide wheather or not I am the right therapist for you. I also offer a sliding scale and one free slot a week to those who can not afford anything (waiting list may apply)
I am a Registered member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their Ethical guidelines (BACP) www.bacp.co.uk. I also comply to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) www.ico.org.uk and hold full professional liability insurance.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
