About me

Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Sue Tyrer, I am a qualified Registered Counsellor and I offer both short or long term counselling on a one to one basis.

Perhaps you feel you would like to talk about difficulties that are affecting you and your life at the moment. Perhaps you are struggling to make sense of these feelings and emotions and would like to talk to someone who can offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to listen to you and give you the opportunity to explore your feelings and find a way forward that suits you.

I have experience of working within the education system, working within the Redditch area in a High School as a School Counsellor supporting students aged 13 years to 18 years addressing many different issues to include self-esteem, body image, bereavement, self-harm, feelings around adoption, bullying and stress.

I am a CRUSH Facilitator working alongside West Mercia Women's Aid offering programmes of support to young people aged 12 years to 18 years whom have been either victims of domestic abuse or have witnessed domestic abuse within the home.

I have Private Practices in both Alcester and Redditch areas. Alcester premises has some road parking to the front however there is a free car park to the rear of the building and can be accessed through a short walk way alongside the premises. The building is quaint, the counselling room is accessed via two small flights of stairs which may be problematic for clients with excessive mobility problems, however this can be discussed if applicable. I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
