About me
Unexpected news, health challenges, anxiety, loss, or overwhelming stress can leave us feeling unsteady, isolated, or unsure how to cope.
You may have recently received difficult news. You may be living with a health condition — your own or someone close to you. You may be struggling with anxiety that is affecting your day-to-day functioning. Or perhaps you are grieving and finding it hard to talk openly with family and friends who are carrying the same loss.
Whatever brings you here, you do not have to face it alone.
As a qualified counsellor with lived experience of serious health and employment challenges, I bring both professional training and a deep personal understanding of how destabilising life’s events can be. While every person’s experience is unique, I know what it feels like to confront uncertainty, fear, and life-altering circumstances.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental. I provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we can work towards greater clarity, resilience, and understanding — helping you make sense of what you are facing and find a way forward that feels right for you.
I would be honoured to support you with whatever has led you to seek counselling. If you feel we might be a good fit, please get in touch.
Training, qualifications & experience
BSc Hons Degree in Person-Centred Counselling
Accredited in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (APT)
Mental Health First Aider
In addition to my private practice, I work with a local hospice, supporting patients from end-of-life care to those rebuilding their lives after serious illness. I also work with relatives and carers during illness and bereavement.
Previously, I worked as a telephone counsellor, supporting clients with anxiety, depression, attachment issues, and suicidal ideation. I have first-hand experience of cancer and serious health diagnoses, and several years’ experience working with cancer patients and their carers.
Beyond counselling, I am the host of the Living with & Beyond Cancer Podcast, sharing real-life stories and insights to support patients, families, and caregivers. I also serve as a board member for the International Kidney Cancer Coalition, advocating for patient rights and improved support systems worldwide.
My experience combines professional training, personal insight, and patient advocacy, all of which inform a compassionate, person-centred approach to supporting individuals through challenging life experiences.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
