About me

Hey there, I'm a big believer in working in a warm, down to earth and understandable way. I currently work with adults face-to-face and in an online/phone setting. With 4 years practice working professionally with a wide variety of clients in different settings.

I work using Person-Centred theory which is non-directive in nature. So whatever you want to bring and focus on is up to you. I will be with you for the journey to help you for example: get back in touch with yourself; discover feelings you perhaps were not aware of; or maybe explore feelings/thoughts you feel you can't talk to others about.

Exploration of feelings can be very rewarding but also uncomfortable at times. However, working through things can help change your outlook on life and sense of self. I'm here to help support you through this process.

I offer a free approx. 20-30mins call to see if we are a good fit and can work together, what you might like to focus on, to arrange a first session time, session frequency and discuss payment.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working within in a college and university student counselling service with young adults. As well as several mental health agency settings ranging from young adults all the way to retirement age. Thanks to the variety of working environments I am experienced in face-to-face, phone and video counselling.

Some examples of issues I have worked with include anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, sense of self, feeling lost in life, work related stress etc.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
