About me

Experienced counsellor offering individual counselling sessions in a warm, non-judgemental space. 15+ years supporting adults with wide-ranging issues.

I'm Sophie, a qualified counsellor and accredited member of NCPS. I work one-to-one with adults from practices in Bristol and Chepstow, as well as online.

I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches. This allows me to work in response to you rather than taking a set approach. I offer a non-judgemental space for you to explore your inner world.

I am an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist, and I am committed to a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, inclusive and ethical practice. My work in the NHS and as a private therapist has given me extensive experience of working with a diverse range of people from many different backgrounds, and with individuals presenting with multiple issues or concerns.

I have particular experience in working with: childhood trauma, anxiety, issues related to gender or sexuality, and neurodiversity.

Training, qualifications & experience

FdA Counselling - University of Plymouth

During my training, I undertook placements with Mind's LGBTQ+ counselling service and Heart to Heart's affordable counselling service.

I have worked in mental health settings for over 15 years, including 7 years in an NHS community mental health team. I continue to work part-time in the NHS alongside my private practice, primarily working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
