About me

Hi, I'm Sophie and I am a Perinatal Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Coach, and I am passionate about helping new mums to feel confident and content in their transition to motherhood during the pregnancy and postpartum period.

I help new mums reclaim their sense of identity and feel strong and confident both as a woman and a mum. Whether you are pregnant or postpartum, I can help you to navigate these huge life shifts. As well as a space to process these changes, I can help you to understand your emotional reactions to situations and to challenge these when needed. You will be supported to manage anxiety, communicate your needs to build healthier relationships and improve your overall mood and well being.

In addition to working with general low mood, anxiety and self-esteem issues, I can also help you deal with other common birth and pregnancy related problems. This includes: intrusive thoughts, OCD (contamination/checking/rumination), panic attacks, prenatal/postnatal depression, birth trauma or health anxiety (related to yourself or your baby).

Sessions are offered online via a secure video conferencing platform. The sessions are flexible around your needs and it is a safe space that you can attend with your baby if needed. The session length is 50 minutes and can be offered short term (approx. 6 weeks to longer term (20+ weeks). Details of this can be discussed during our initial consultation.

If you would like to find out more about how I can help you then please call me on 07900 887111 or send me an email to find out more. Check my website www.sophieharris.co for more information.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have 13 years experience working in NHS and private mental health care settings. I hold a degree in Occupational Therapy and a Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Before starting my online therapy practice, I have worked in various NHS services in East London.  This has involved working in a Mother and Baby Unit and supporting pregnant and new mum's within an NHS talking therapies service.
