About me
I’m Sophie Harris, Specialist Postpartum & Motherhood Therapist.
I help sensitive mums overcome overwhelm, anxiety and anger so they can feel calmer, happier and more like themselves, through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & talking therapy.
I offer online sessions across the UK and internationally, as well as in-person therapy in Bristol.
I support women through pregnancy and motherhood to navigate the emotional impact of these huge life changes, helping you feel more grounded, confident, and like yourself again.
Together, we can explore what you’re going through in a supportive, non-judgemental space, and work on understanding and shifting unhelpful thought patterns, managing difficult emotions, and building healthier ways of coping and communicating your needs.
I have experience working with a range of perinatal and maternal mental health difficulties, including intrusive thoughts, OCD (checking, contamination, rumination), panic attacks, prenatal and postnatal depression, birth trauma, and health anxiety (for yourself or your baby).
As featured in SheerLuxe, I’ve been described as “gentle, thoughtful and practical - the therapist every new mum should have on speed dial.”
If you would like to find out more about working with me, please feel free to get in touch via email or visit www.lookingaftermum.co.uk for more information.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have 13 years experience working in NHS and private mental health care settings. I hold a degree in Occupational Therapy and a Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Before starting my online therapy practice, I have worked in various NHS services in East London. This has involved working in a Mother and Baby Unit and supporting pregnant and new mum's within an NHS talking therapies service.
