About me
I provide a calm and confidential space for you to explore and talk openly about all the struggles you face whether it be recent or in the past, life and work challenges and the demands of every day living. The first stage of the process is to build trust between us so you feel safe enough to talk openly and in confidence. Therapy can be transformative and as with any process, it may take time to work through the challenges and difficulties you face. I work with a wide range of people, of varying ages, all with unique life experiences. I offer both short term focused counselling and open-ended long-term therapy.
You are welcome to contact me by phone or email to discuss your situation before arranging an initial consultation. All communication is treated with the utmost respect and in complete confidence.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integrative therapist and trained with the Psychosynthesis Trust in London Bridge. I work creatively with clients across various therapeutic approaches both to support clients in their struggles and to explore what is trying to emerge, whether it be a deeper sense of meaning and/or purpose in their lives.
I work with clients across a wide range of issues ranging from: Addiction – Alcoholism & Substance Abuse - Anger Management - Anxiety – Depression - Bereavement, Grief & Loss - Boarding School Trauma - Co-dependency - Divorce & Separation - Intergenerational Trauma - Low Self Esteem - Loneliness - Loss of Direction & Meaning - Pet Bereavement - Stress (work & family) - Suicidal Ideation - Trauma and more…
I do have a particular interest in addiction recovery, bereavement and loss and inter-generational trauma. I have previously worked in Drug and Alcohol Primary Treatment and as a counsellor for the NHS.
In addition to my work as a therapist, I also have 20 years of experience in teaching yoga and breath work. I am particularly interested in the connection between the mind, the body and feelings and how that impacts your overall sense of wellbeing and mental health.
I am registered with the BACP and abide by their ethical code of practice.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
