About me

One of the reasons I became a counsellor is because I’ve been in the in the grips of anxiety and stress, in the past and I’ve watched family members grapple with challenging mental health conditions. I realise the path through is individual to each of us but having someone in your corner who listens and cares without judgment can make all the difference.

Many of my clients are navigating life changes, relationship breakdown, school or work pressures, family issues or have a growing realisation that something has to change. I work with a broad range of individuals 14 years and over and warmly welcome neurodivergent clients and people from the LGBTQIA+ community/communities.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, but it really doesn’t have to feel this way. I offer empathy, time and the safe space you need to talk things through at your own pace and begin to make sense of what might be going on for you.  My hope is that you feel at ease from the outset, as our initial session together can include exploration of whatever has brought you to counselling and setting some goals for what you want to achieve, with the aim that you leave feeling lighter and read for the work to start.

Your sessions are a time for you to share your experiences, express how you are feeling, reflect on deeper concerns to build self-awareness, feel genuinely heard and understood, giving you the opportunity to heal.

How I work

People come to me for counselling for many different reasons: anxiety; trauma; loss; depression, stress, all of the above and more. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to suit you as an individual. For example, some clients love a solution focussed approach while others prefer to pull apart what has impacted them in the week and to explore what this brings up for them. Some like CBT activities and others enjoy being creative to access deeper emotions .  Sessions can be open-ended or time-limited, with clear goals if that feels helpful. We work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you.

Next steps

Finding a counsellor that’s right for you is an important part of the process. I offer an initial free 15-minute phone or Zoom consultation, giving us a chance to introduce ourselves, talk about what you’re looking for, and help you decide whether we might be a good fit.

If you feel ready to take the next step, please feel free to make contact.
