About me

Counselling in Folkestone and Online

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I'm Siobhon, a BACP registered counsellor. My work is grounded in the belief that being listened to, understood, and accepted can create the conditions for change and growth.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, you may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, or finding yourself at a point where things no longer feel manageable in the way they once did. Perhaps you're navigating relationship difficulties, grief, menopause, or a life transition that has left you feeling disconnected from yourself.

What is my approach?
My approach is person-centred and integrative, and I adapt the way we work to suit you and your individual needs.

Together, we can explore what's happening for you and make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe that change can happen when we are given the opportunity to pause, reflect, and develop a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Alongside counselling, I bring a holistic understanding of emotional wellbeing. As a qualified yoga teacher, I can incorporate grounding and mindfulness practices where they feel helpful, particularly during times of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm.

With over 20 years' experience as a professional makeup artist, I have developed a particular interest in the relationship between confidence, self-image, identity, and emotional wellbeing. This has inspired the development of Makeup Therapy: Wearing Your Wellbeing™, a creative approach that supports confidence, self-worth, and reconnecting with yourself. This is always optional and client-led.

Areas of particular interest

In addition to working with anxiety, stress, low mood, and relationship difficulties, I have developed a particular interest in:

• Confidence, self-esteem, body image, and self-worth

• Menopause and midlife transitions

• Caring responsibilities, burnout, and emotional exhaustion

• Relationship changes, grief, and loss

• Identity, self-expression, and reconnecting with yourself

• The emotional impact of illness or cancer treatment, including changes in appearance and confidence

Life's experiences can sometimes leave us feeling lost, uncertain, or disconnected from who we are. Counselling can provide the opportunity to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what is happening, while discovering new ways of relating to yourself with greater compassion and understanding.

I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, online and in person in Folkestone and Cheriton.

If you are considering counselling and would like to find out more, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. This provides an opportunity for us to talk about what has brought you to counselling and whether working together feels right for you.

You are very welcome to get in touch whenever you feel ready.
