About me

Hi there ,my name is Sindy and  I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP specialising in womens mental health and well- being.

I can help you with your anxiety, depression, grief and relationship issues and I promise to provide a welcoming and nurturing environment for you to explore any problems or issues past and present .

Are you looking for a safe space to speak your truth, to feel heard and understood and to help make sense of how you are feeling right now without judgment or criticism?. Would you like a life coaching approach , to give you direction? Or are you searching for support whilst you find your own way ? I can help you with both.

Previous to being  a counsellor,I worked with women for over 25 years in the health and well- being sector. During this time, I had many women open up to me ,revealing  a variety of different issues they were going through and this led me to realise that I wanted to learn new skills to be able to help them on a deeper nurturing and empowering level. My job was giving me valuable experience and transferrable skills that gave me the confidence  to change career and train to become a counsellor.

Alongside my training I also trained and volunteered with Blue Door and Cruse .I started to understand  that even when we have well meaning and supportive family and friends , therapy is different. I will give you the freedom to disclose without judgement , to speak from the heart and to express your feelings  whilst I hold space for you .

I too have suffered judgement for my decisions, beliefs, ideas and self expression alongside a sense of not belonging. I can see how valuable this unique relationship is.

Since my late teens I have had an interest in the body and mind connection.I have always believed that how we treat ourselves regarding nutrition, physical activity and the words we speak to ourselves and to others have a direct impact on how we feel and behave. We can choose to take responsibility for our health and we can start afresh anytime, it is never too late if we can be open to all ways of looking after ourselves, physical, mentally and emotionally.

As a result of these beliefs I regularly practice yoga, exercise, healthy eating,  breathwork and mindfulness. I believe we can learn to heal ourselves if we live an honest and grateful life, believing that we are enough and that happiness is most definitely an inside job.

If you are unsure how I may be able to help, please contact me so we can discuss your needs Together we can work on a completely  bespoke approach using my professional knowledge, life experiences and deep passion for empowering and supporting women.

I have early morning and weekend  appointments available alongside  normal working hours and work face to face as well as by telephone .I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
