About me
Feeling overwhelmed or stuck? I am an accredited CBT Therapist and EMDR therapist, and for the past 17 years, I've been guiding people like you through challenges such as anxiety and difficult past experiences.
During sessions we will work together to help you understand your difficulties, where they have come from and what is keeping them going. I provide a relaxed and non-judgemental atmosphere where we work together in collaboration to achieve your therapy goals. Previous clients have described me as direct, understanding, patient and easy to talk to.
When we work together, you can expect a safe and understanding space. If we use CBT, you'll learn practical ways to manage your thoughts and feelings to improve your daily life.
If EMDR is right for you, it can help process difficult memories so they have less power over you.
My goal is simple: to provide clear, effective therapy tailored to your needs. Let's explore how CBT or EMDR can help you find lasting positive change.
Training, qualifications & experience
My journey in mental health began by working directly with individuals in an acute hospital setting, inspiring me to train as a Mental Health Nurse in 2010. This hands-on experience in hospital and community environments gave me a deep understanding of what truly helps.
Driven to offer more, in 2013 I pursued advanced training in psychological therapies, focusing specifically on becoming a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist. This means you can trust in a high standard of care that's regularly reviewed.
Later, I became trained in EMDR, a powerful therapy often used for trauma, but increasingly helpful for other difficulties too.
My unique background combines practical medical insight with in-depth therapy training. I'm also passionate about the powerful connection between our bodies and minds, leading me to train as a yoga teacher.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
