About me

Are you satisfied with your life?

Many things can get in the way of us experiencing a full and satisfying life. These could be anxiety, depression, stress, illness, low self-confidence, an eating disorder, addiction, work issues, financial worries, family or relationship struggles. Or you may have experienced a major change in your life such as bereavement, divorce, redundancy, miscarriage or an accident. It may just be that you find yourself dissatisfied and wondering what’s next. Regardless of the issue you are experiencing or your personal history, counselling or therapy can help.

I am a Humanistic Psychotherapist/Counsellor working online and in person. Humanistic therapy focuses on supporting self-development, personal growth and taking responsibility. Together with creating a warm, non-judgemental space to explore any issues, the client-therapist relationship is key to my work. As I am able to draw on different therapeutic models, my approach is tailored to each client as I believe each person is individual with a unique history.

I am also a mother to a lively and wonderful 8 year old who makes me appreciate each day and brings new perspective to my therapeutic work. I work from my home in Ramsey, Huntingdon and online or telephonically. I offer confidential therapy sessions that can be short-term counselling where we address specific issues over an agreed number of weekly sessions or open-ended therapy. This enables a therapeutic relationship to develop and offers the time and space for you to explore your life at your own pace and develop self-knowledge and skills to better manage many of life’s situations and relationships.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been in private practice since 2011 working in person, online  and telephonically. My in person practice is based in Ramsey, Huntingdon but has previously been in London and Cambridge. I work with individuals from across the UK and internationally, using online platforms.

I completed my Psychotherapeutic training with at Spectrum (UKCP Organisational Member) in North London from 2006-2011. I continue my professional development on an ongoing basis to increase my knowledge and skills,  as well as keep abreast of changes within the therapeutic and counselling arena.

I have regular supervision with a BACP registered Psychotherapist. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.

In addition to my private practice, I have also worked as an honourary counsellor for MIND in Cambridgeshire.

The following Psychotherapy & Counselling training has been undertaken at Spectrum in London:

  • Working with Anger
  • Working with Dreams

Bachelor's degree of Social Science – HR Psychology; Industrial, Organisational & Labour Studies; Business Administration

My work history includes a successful 10 year career in management in the IT industry and public sector.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
