About me
Hi I'm Sarah, an Integrative Therapist based in Bournemouth, Dorset, offering sessions to individuals and couples online and in person in the BH1 area.
With a background in training as a Humanistic Integrative Therapist, my approach to working with humans starts with knowing that you are the expert in your own world and that you have the capability to live a life that feels authentically aligned with your true values, beliefs and desires.
My specialism is in sex and couples therapy, however I have been working in private practice with adult individuals with a variety of everyday presenting challenges, and am here to support you to find clarity and peace in your every day life whatever you might be going through right now.
Other relevant experience
As an Integrative Kink Therapist, Coach & Educator, specialising in working with Individuals and Couples on Kink, BDSM & Alternative Lifestyle Relationships, my experience also translates into offering therapy through the lens of Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD), meaning my therapy room is a safe space for sex-positive, kink-informed, poly-aware, and LGBTQIA+ friendly therapy for individuals and couples.
While your main reasons for seeking counselling may not directly be related to your sexuality or relationships, I know how important it is to feel comfortable to share these aspects of your life should they need to come up in therapy.
I have over 13 years of personal experience in Kink, BDSM & Alternative Lifestyle Relationships, and have been a coach and educator in this space for over 6 years. I am a big believer that working with our sexuality is the key to healing in many other aspects of our life.
When we dive into sex, especially kink, it unlocks the door to our shadow self, which in turn allows us to connect with other parts of ourselves that may need some care and attention. This could include but is not limited to, limiting beliefs, inner child work, confidence and self esteem, trauma, shame, attachment and much more.
Whether you're looking to explore your desires and understand more about your kinks, or you're facing some challenges related to your sexuality, desires, intimacy & relationships, our work together will use compassionate and conscious inquiry into your thoughts and feelings and can draw on a variety of theories and tools from different aspects of psychology, spirituality, and mindfulness, to support you in your journey to living in alignment with your highest, most authentic self.
Sessions can be held online on Zoom, or you can enquire about a limited number of F2F slots available in Bournemouth.
Counselling or coaching?
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and available on a weekly basis to explore any issues or challenges you are facing in your world. I provide a safe space for you to share your feelings and make sense of what is going on for you.
Coaching is designed to focus on particular goals or challenges with a more educational and directive tone. I offer a variety of coaching packages both online and in-person, specifically related to exploring your kinks either individually or as a couple/throuple/polycule. Please visit my website subinthcity.com for more information about kink coaching.
Next steps
To find out if we are a good fit to work together, please send me a message with a little bit of information about what you'd like to explore through our work together, and if this aligns, we can arrange a free 15 minute discovery call to discuss this further.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
