About me

We come to counselling for many reasons and at all stages of life, sometimes a big event has left you feeling lost or overwhelmed, maybe a job loss or bereavement. It might be that day-to-day life is leaving you with feelings of anxiety or depression, maybe you want to make changes but can't imagine how?

Counselling can help us pause, process and reflect, find perspective and a way forwards when maybe we feel 'stuck' and that nothing can change.  I will offer you a safe and non-judgemental space to explore what's happening for you.  I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship enables us to develop our awareness and self-reflection in a supported way.

I aim to work as two human-beings together, to allow you to give voice to thoughts and feelings and for us to explore them together through gentle enquiry and reflection.  You are the guide of where our work takes us, as a person-centred counsellor I don't come to the work with any agenda of my own, but with care and interest.

I practice online (video) and in person in Falmouth, Penryn and Probus. I offer a free introductory phone call for us to establish if we're a good fit - I explain a little of how I work and we can talk about what you look to achieve from counselling and see if I'm able to help.

Training, qualifications & experience

Level 5 Diploma in Counselling including certificate in Online and Phone Therapy.

My training path took me through over three years of Level 2 Counselling Skills, Level 4 Certificate in Counselling and finally my Level 5 Diploma in Counselling which is a Gold standard course (accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
