About me

Hello and a warm welcome to my page.

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor with 14 years of experience supporting adults through a wide range of life's challenges. I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly, feel truly heard, and explore whatever is important to you.

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and I understand that finding the right counsellor is an important part of the process. My aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted, valued, and able to talk at your own pace, without fear of judgement.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. Rather than giving advice or directing the sessions, I work alongside you with empathy, honesty, and respect, supporting you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and helping you find a way forward that feels right for you.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy  and work within the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring my practice is professional, ethical, and centred around your wellbeing.

Alongside my counselling work, I am also a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). This has given me extensive experience and a broad understanding of mental health. However, my private practice is dedicated to working with adults, offering person-centred counselling tailored to each individual's unique needs.

I support adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship issues, and life transitions. You may also be looking for a space to reflect, gain clarity, or better understand yourself. Whatever has brought you to counselling, you will be met with warmth, compassion, and acceptance.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards through ongoing learning and development. My qualifications include:

  • Foundation Degree in Arts (FdA) in Counselling (Level 5)
  • Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons) in Nursing Practice (Mental Health)
  • Certificate in Counselling Supervision
  • Level 2 Award in Awareness of Bereavement Care (Cruse Bereavement Care)

As a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I also undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure my knowledge and practice remain current, enabling me to provide safe, effective, and ethical counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
