About me
Are you looking for someone to talk to? I mean someone who really listens and supports you in exploring whatever you’re going through, without judgment? Making time and space for yourself is essential, especially in the fast-paced world we live in.
I'm Sarah and I’m a trauma informed integrative counsellor who works with adults of all ages. My clients tell me I'm warm, friendly and easy to talk to and I pride myself on creating a relaxed and comfortable space to welcome my clients.
The type of counselling I offer:
There's no 'one size fits all' in counselling and, although I specialise in Gestalt therapy, I integrate other types of counselling in order to find a way of working that best suits you. What is Gestalt therapy? Gestalt therapy helps you to focus on what you are feeling and experiencing in the present moment, rather than analysing the past. With awareness of your thoughts, emotions and behaviours you can try to understand yourself better and take responsibility for change.
What I can help you with:
I can offer support with a range of issues including anxiety, GAD, depression, bereavement, loss, anticipated loss, major life transitions, menopause, relationship issues, caring for a loved one with Dementia, building self- confidence, sight loss or for those who simply feel they have lost their way in life.
For me, the heart of counselling is the relationship we build together. Being able to genuinely connect with someone when they need support is something I care about deeply and it is through this relationship that we create a space for growth and change.
Alongside private practice I am an Associate Counsellor at Thanet Counselling Service in Birchington. I have also provided counselling at Crossroads Care Kent who provide extensive support for unpaid carers in our community and also Kent Association for the Blind who support those who are sight impaired.
How to make contact with me:
Email is preferable as I am often unable to answer my phone. That said, if you leave me a message I will call you back when I am able to. Once we find a mutually convenient time to have a chat we can decide if we are the right fit. If we're not the right fit then I will always try to help you find someone who is.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
