About me

A qualified professional and specialist in this field of Drug and Alcohol Counselling and Treatment, with years of practical experience in this field.

Working together to understand and treat the effects of emotional and psychological Trauma (individual and collective), Anxiety, Depression and the pain and suffering of addiction.

Visit my website for inspirational client testimonies and recovery journey's: www.caringwithcompassion.co.uk

I provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment for concerned individuals as well as for partners, family members and friends.

You’ll be given support and workable recovery strategies needed to create lasting positive lifestyle changes.

At Caring with Compassion I use a holistic, person Centred approach ~ to look after each client as a whole. I cover biological, psychological, social and often spiritual aspects of one’s life.

Substance misuse treatment and counselling

Crucially, I understand the many roots of addiction / Trauma and the treatment needed.

Interventions I use include Motivational Interviewing, S.M.A.R.T, CBT, MBRP.

  • I help people to recover from the effects of addiction and gain control of their lives.
  • Equip users with useful strategies for dealing with the complexities of life and it's challenging.
  • Enhance health and wellbeing.
  • Help people with reduction or to reach abstinence.
  • Work through triggers and cravings to prevent relapse.

Counselling will support clients to enhance and maintain their motivation to change, and develop their problem-solving and coping skills. Gearing towards an overall better state of well being.

With counselling help, clients can move forward confidently and start enjoying a life free from the constraints and repercussions of drug and alcohol problems.

Anxiety and depression

Restlessness, uneasiness of mind, low moods. I am here to support those with a range of mental health conditions, dual diagnosis and other complex needs. Together working through intrusive thoughts, worries and tension to gear up towards a happier, joyful life.

Mindfulness for relapse prevention (MBRP)

Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention techniques are intended to foster increased awareness of triggers, destructive habitual patterns, and “automatic” reactions that seem to control many of our lives. Instead, replacing them with positive reactions in order for us to handle stressful situations without turning to substances to escape our problems. Focusing on the here and now.

I am a trained instructor in Mindfulness Therapy.

Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
