About me

Hello and welcome.

I'm an experienced and qualified therapist offering counselling / psychotherapy and supervision. I am Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

People access therapy for a variety of different reasons - anxiety, depression, panic to name but a few. You may have an area of your life that you are keen to explore, or perhaps you are less sure and that's ok too. Often the therapeutic relationship can offer new perspectives, experiences and awareness - perhaps new potentials or the rediscovery of something 'lost'. We are all unique I will work with you in a way that honours your experiences and respects you as an individual - supporting you to find your own direction and resources.

Talking to a counsellor can help you to feel listened to and understood. I will offer you an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential and non-judgemental setting. Whether you are looking to explore a specific aspect, or a more complex and deep-seated emotional issue, I offer the space for you to talk confidentially and feel listened to and supported. As a therapist I aim to create a relationship with you that is grounded in respect, openness and empathy. Therapy can be both challenging and empowering. My aim is to stand by your side through the ebb and flow.

Finding a therapist that feels right for you is important, so I offer a reduced fee initial appointment (up to 50mins) with no obligation, so that we can meet and get a sense of how we might work together.

I offer long term and short term work on a one to one basis for adults and young people.

I welcome any enquiries and am happy to try and answer any questions you might have. If I am unable to provide a service that feels right for you I might be able to offer you information on alternative services.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
