Anxiety, depression, OCD, mental health, stress, social anxiety, neurodiversity, family, friendship or relationship issues.

Hi, I'm Sally.

I understand how difficult it can be to find the right counsellor or to even know for sure if they would be able to help you. You may even be questioning whether you really need to have counselling.                             I imagine that if you are here now reading this then something is telling you that you would like to talk to someone about how you are feeling.    Of course family and friends can be supportive but often there is a consequence to sharing with them, maybe they don't fully understand, tell you that you shouldn't worry or even start to treat you differently because of what you shared.                                                                                My way of working is non judgemental, its not about telling you not to worry its about exploring what it is that is worrying you and provide a safe confidential space for you to feel able to be open and honest and to support you to discover your own way to cope with or change things.    For me, its about enabling you to be confident in making choices that best suit you and be able to navigate what can be difficult conversations with loved ones. I don't have a magic wand that will make it all disappear (you pay extra for that!) but what I do have is the knowledge, patience and support to be able to guide you towards where you would like to be.                                                                                                                                     I work in an integrative way which means that I draw on many different styles and knowledge to align with what you bring. I sometimes use worksheets which can help bring to the surface things which can sometimes get stuck. They can provide a visual insight or recap into your experiences.

So now a bit about my experience and history.                                              I've worked in the care industry for around 26 years, I started out working with adults who had a learning difficulty and some with challenging behaviour. I did this for 8 years.                                                                            I now work in community mental health supporting people to remain mentally as healthy as they can be by providing support in everyday life albeit a coffee and chat or a presence at appointments. I have done this for the past 12 years. I also work as a counsellor for a charity which supports 11-25 years olds and in a secondary school.                                      As you can imagine I have met many different people with many different challenges and learnt so much from them and continue to learn now.

So, enough about me, I'd love to hear about you.

You can call or text me on the number above just to have a quick chat to see if we can work together or send me an email, (there is no fee for this initial contact) I will do my best to reply within 24 hours.                            There is no obligation to commit to counsellng once we have spoken but its always nice to make contact to make the decision whether to continue or not.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
