About me

Sometimes life doesn’t unravel all at once. It builds quietly — pressure, confusion, grief, identity questions — until you realise you’re carrying more than you can manage alone.

You might know exactly what’s wrong. Or you might simply feel that something needs attention.

I don’t sit behind a professional mask or simply repeat back what you say. Clients tell me they value that I’m genuine and engaged. Our work is collaborative and conversational, while still grounded in care and professionalism. I won’t tell you what to do, but I will help you explore what’s going on beneath the surface and support you in making sense of it in your own way.

I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, low mood, identity questions, bereavement, relationship difficulties, or periods of change. In my work, I’ve often found that LGBTQIA+ clients, people from minority backgrounds, and those exploring belonging or loss tend to connect with me — though I welcome anyone who feels I might be a good fit.

Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience of adoption, identity, and early loss. Having navigated significant change and reinvention in my own life, I understand how early experiences can echo into adulthood — and how growth often requires honesty and courage.

Some people come wanting practical change. Others need space to process emotion or understand patterns that keep repeating. There isn’t one correct way to approach counselling — we shape the work around what feels useful and meaningful to you.

If you’re considering starting therapy, I offer a free 15-minute call so you can decide whether I feel like the right person to work with.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been practising as a qualified counsellor since 2019, with over a decade of experience working within mental health services.

My core approach is person-centred, with additional specialist training in counselling for depression. This means I work in a way that focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship while supporting people experiencing low mood, loss of motivation, or emotional overwhelm.

My experience includes:

• GP practices
• Employee assistance programmes (EAP)
• Mental health charities
• Voluntary sector services

I currently work within a leading mental health charity, where I support and oversee other counsellors while continuing clinical practice.

My experience has taught me how to stay grounded and thoughtful, even when someone’s circumstances feel complicated or intense.

Training & Qualifications
• Level 6 BSc (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy: Professional Practice
• Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling for Depression

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Although I have experience supporting a wide range of people and have worked with clients of different ages, I have particular interests in supporting individuals from LGBTQIA+ and BAME communities, as well as those who may feel estranged, disconnected, or uncertain about their identity.

My aim is to provide a safe and inclusive space where people feel heard and empowered to explore who they are, reflect on their experiences, and find the approach that works best for them in moving forward.
