People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. It may be that you are finding life difficult at the moment and just need a space to talk freely. It may also be that you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and feel you need a safe space to explore this. There may have been an event in your past or more recent future that troubles you. Alternately you may have goals and aspirations that you want to achieve but are not sure how. Counselling can offer you a non-judgemental space to explore all aspects of how you are feeling, in your own time at your own pace. I am a fully qualified Person-Centred counsellor here to help.

Training, qualifications & experience
My academic journey
I started my academic career studying social sciences at college and then moved on to study Criminology and Psychology at Brighton University. It was here that I realised that rather than assessing clients I wanted to be part of the therapeutic process. I started studying counselling at Level one and continued through to Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, becoming fully qualified.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and therefore abide by their code of ethics while working.
I am always looking to learn more and improve my skills. I have completed further studies (CPDs) on Anger management, bereavement, addiction and working with dreams. I continue to study areas to improve my practice
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
