About me

Hi, I’m Rosey (she/her), a BACP registered integrative counsellor/psychotherapist working both online and in person in the Kingston/Teddington area, experienced in working with both young people and adults across a wide range of concerns. These include anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and also the challenges experienced by those identifying as neurodivergent.

Working ‘integratively’ means that I draw on a range of different counselling theories and ideas, but always with the aim of finding the way of working that is best for you, as my client.

My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, neurodiversity affirming, confidential space where together we can explore the reasons that have brought you to therapy, and co-create a better future. We can work together in person, online, or if you'd prefer, we can 'walk and talk', either in Bushy Park or along the river from Kingston.

Sometimes, it is possible for us to make changes in life that enable us to live happier, better lives. At other times, we are not able to change the circumstances that we are finding difficult- but it can still be possible to develop new ways of understanding ourselves, our feelings, and our situations.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a postgraduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy (PGDip) from the University of East London, which is long established socially inclusive, BACP accredited integrative counselling/psychotherapy course.

As the clinical placement for my training, I worked at Off the Record in Twickenham, counselling young people aged from 11-24, and encountering a wide variety of issues.

I now provide counselling therapy to clients from families where there is a young person with additional needs, through local charity Skylarks, in partnership with Off the Record.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
