About me

I'd like to warmly greet you, to offer you my whole-hearted attention and to hear you deeply. To be with you in confusion or pain, sadness or laughter. I would like to welcome all parts of you, including those parts that you struggle to bring.

Sessions are offered in person, often in conjunction with Zoom or phone when necessary. Having a few options enables a flexible and continuous service, so hopefully we can always find a way to meet.

Therapy is a process of growth and discovery which helps you make sense of things. By offering you empathy and non-judgement and by being open and real with you, I work to offer you a place of safety where you can bring your burdens. I want to offer you some relief from your distress and bear witness to things it might be too hard to say to anyone else. I would love to help you be at ease within yourself.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified person-centred psychotherapist and counsellor, and a registered and accredited member of the BACP, offering therapy to individuals over 18 years of age.

The person-centred approach has been the core model at the heart of my professional work for the past 16 years, whether that be offering therapeutic activities to older adults in care, through community arts projects or 1:1 peer support for new mums. This commitment to the person-centred approach lead me to train as a therapist in 2015 and I have been seeing clients continuously ever since.

I'm passionate about my ongoing professional development and learning. Some of my further training which informs my evolving practice includes Level 1 certificate in Person-centred Expressive Arts Therapy, multiple CPD trainings in Polyvagal Informed Therapy, Internal Family Systems for Complex trauma, Assisted Self Discovery and Existentially informed therapy - if anything here gets you curious we can explore this.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
