About me
If you feel like you're struggling alone with anxiety, stress, self-esteem or other life challenges, I offer a space for you - to feel heard, understood and accepted. Working at your pace, I help you to discover greater clarity, change and wellbeing.
A bit about me ... I love nature, walking outdoors, my silly dog, cold sea dips and my work - helping people feel and live better. Like so many of us, I know how it feels to struggle with the seemingly endless demands, complexities and difficulties of life. But I’ve come to see that life doesn’t have to be this hard, and we don’t need to struggle alone.
I am client-led and would describe my approach as empathetic, collaborative and down-to-earth. I created my logo around a lighthouse because I see this as a good reflection of how I work: offering a steady light and a supportive, safe space as you find your way towards the path you wish to be on.
And You ...? I'm here to listen deeply, without judgement, to whatever you wish to bring. I will help you untangle what feels painful or stuck, build greater trust in your own innate, inbuilt capacity to live well and take meaningful steps towards a healthier, more balanced, freer way of living.
People come to me with many different problems including anxiety, depression, stress, unsettling life transitions, feeling lost in who they are, persistent trauma, low self-esteem, grief, identity issues and relationship difficulties. As a person-centred therapist, I believe you are the expert on your own life but, whatever you’re struggling with, I’m here to help and reassure you that you don't need to tackle your problems alone.
I work flexibly to suit your needs, and offer therapy sessions in-room (in Exeter and Exmouth), online and over the phone, as well walk and talk, nature-based therapy (in Exmouth). For some people, taking counselling outside, walking side by side and connecting with nature, can feel more relaxed and nourishing.
I offer a free, informal 20-minute phone or zoom chat, if you would like to find out more before deciding to start counselling. I meet you with warmth and respect, knowing the courage it can take to reach out for support.
I look forward to hearing from you. Warm wishes, Rebecca
