About me

Hello, I’m Phyllis. I know how it feels to take the first step in talking about our personal issues. Having experienced anxiety and depression during times in my life. This has helped me have a natural empathy and understanding with my clients. Having an extensive background with both mental health and charity organisations. Over the past decade I have worked for two charitable organisations, with a focus on homelessness and addiction, and the other working with mental health challenges of illness, bereavement, personal, and social issues. This laid the foundations for my training to be a counsellor. I gained a unique insight into the power of how really hearing another’s experience is both rewarding and empowering for everyone who experiences it. This influenced me to train and qualify as a psychotherapist. I am committed to being non-judgemental, empathetic and understanding in each of our sessions together.

What to Expect

I offer a safe space to explore, challenge, and understand each person’s individual and unique experiences in life. Tailoring each session to the individual. My way of working integrates the Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches. This promotes a place in which we can explore how past experiences can frame the present, and at other times focus on effective ways to manage daily life. Reconnecting with our authentic self.

I meet people who experience a variety of distinct life experiences. In the sessions we collaboratively develop a way for you to identify and navigate these challenges by creating your unique set of tools and resources.
