About me

My name is Philomena O'Hara.  I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist offering counselling/therapy in Moseley, Birmingham.  My practice is situated in Moseley and within easy reach of Acocks Green, Hall Green, Olton, Kings Heath and Harbourne. I have a number of years of clinical experience and work in private practice and in an organisational setting.  I have experience in working with adults of different ages, gender, culture and background.  I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I work with people who want to develop greater self-awareness , and find deeper meaning in their lives.Therapy can help you to understand how the past shapes the present, influencing how you relate to yourself and others.  It will help you to acquire new understanding, increase your self-awareness, enabling you to make changes and choices for life. Eemotial difficulties can manifest as depression, anxiety , making  one aware that something in their life is not as it should be.
