About me

During our lives we are sometimes presented with news that may be hard to take in and deal with. You may feel the need for a quiet space to talk to someone who can provide an opportunity to listen to you and help you to understand the thoughts and feelings at a time when you feel you are in turmoil. Over the last year more and more of us have been affected by a loss of a loved one or colleague during the COVID pandemic, we are now being faced with the new challenge of returning to our work place, how will you cope with this ? Others may have moved forward but you might be finding it tricky I would hope to lend you a listening ear as you tackle yet another challenge as you try to cope with your loss.

I aim to provide a safe and relaxed environment based in a tranquil garden room setting for you to explore the thoughts and feelings that are troubling you in hope that you feel more able to understand and move forward.

I have experience in working one to one with adults and young people as they face a terminal diagnosis or learn to live with a life limiting illness. I have experience of working with bereavement and anticipated loss in families including loss of children and baby loss.

I am able to offer short term or long  term counselling. I aim to offer a supportive steady presence walking alongside you as you explore and try to understand what is troubling you. By offering you empathy and understanding together we can find a way for you to cope.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
